New Week, New Words!

Another Sunday has arrived. Today is a much cooler day here in Ottawa.  We can taste that the fall (el otoño) is in the air.

Going back to last week’s words and challenge, do you remember what they were? Find out the answers below.

El invierno:  winter
La primavera: spring

Here are the fantastic responses that came in! I love the participation each week! (Note: We’ll review the two last seasons next week .)

No me gusta el invierno en Canadá porque hay mucha nieve.
I don’t like the winter in Canada because there is a lot of snow.

A mi me gusta la primavera porque finalmente hay muchas flores y puedo caminar sin un abrigo.
I like the spring because finally there are lots of flowers and I can walk without a coat on.

No me gusta el invierno porque hace mucho frío. Sin embargo, me gusta el invierno porque en invierno mis Maple Leafs juegan al hockey y, a veces, ganan. JAJAJA. Me gusta mucho la primavera porque hay muchas flores, pájaros y el sol hace mucho calor.
I don’t like the winter because it’s very cold.  However, I do like the winter because my Maple Leafs are playing hockey and sometimes they win. Hahaha!  I really like the spring because there are flowers, birds and the sun brings a lot of heat.

Entre invierno y primavera prefiero la primavera.  Al menos en primavera mis pies no se enfrían y mi nariz no corre.  JAJAJA.
Between winter and spring, I prefer the spring.  At least in the spring my feet don’t get cold and my nose doesn’t run.  hahaha!

Here are the words for this week.

P.S. Do you know what my superpower is?… connecting people. Especially during our conversation classes.  I do this by using fun games to make people feel more comfortable.  I use laughter to relax the brain.

This is our last week of conversation classes (snif snif).  The students have connected and have felt more at ease to speak in Spanish.  During our time together, they’ve enriched their vocabulary and learned new expressions.  So fun! If you would like to add your name to our wait list to find out the next time we open up our conversation class, email me at auramarinasawyer15@gmail.com and let me know.

PPS. Looking to pronounce a particular word in Spanish? Email me at auramarinasawyer15@gmail.com and let me now! I always love creating content you want to learn.
