Lejos: far

Yo vivo cerca de la universidad Carleton pero lejos del parque Gatineau.
I live close to Carleton University but far from Gatineau park.

Amo mucho a mi perro y me gusta que ella está cerca de mí, pero después de encontrarse con una mofeta, me gusta que ella está muy lejos de mi.
I love my dog and I like when she’s close to me, but after meeting up with a skunk, I like that she’s far away from me.

La casa del lado está cerca de mí, pero mi casa en Canadá está muy lejos de mí. Pero, es agradable y cálido aquí abajo.
The house beside me is close, but my house in Canada is very far from me. But it’s lovely and warm down here.

Aquí en Texas estamos muy cerca de la frontera con México pero de Canadá estamos muy lejos de la misma frontera.
Here in Texas we are close to the Mexican border but from Canada we are very far from the same border.
