Weekly Word Challenge
Sunday is here again! The month of August is coming to a close. Can you taste autumn (otoño) in the air?
This week, I would like to dedicate the newsletter to my dear mother in law. Her name is Helen and she is 89 years old and has advanced dementia. During our vacation, my husband and I had the opportunity to go to the home to feed her lunch every day. When she was a bit more lucid, we had some good laughs. I love her dearly and she has always taught me so much. Years ago she used to say “children…take care of your teeth”…because she ended up with dentures. It made me think that it’s the same for our brains. I can hear her saying “take care of your brain”. And for you…. as students or potential students…. what does this mean?
When you utilize your brain by learning a foreign language it helps to lower the rates of getting dementia. How cool is that? You have fun, you learn and you help your brain. Thank you dear Helen!
Going back to last week’s words and challenge, do you remember what they were? Find out the answers below.
La derecha: to the right
La izquierda: to the left
Here are the fantastic responses that came in. I love the creativity! YOUPPI!
