Weekly Word Challenge

It’s Sunday (domingo) again. I am still flying high from the amazing community conversation class last Tuesday. I am so proud of my students who show up, participate and have fun! I am extremely grateful to my Aunt, Uncle and dear friend who attended as guests.

I also want to give a huge shout out to my daughter. My laptop was not working twenty minutes before the class was due to start. I was expecting 11 people and I was panicking. My daughter stepped in and helped me. After the class I was reflecting that we all need help and support…..especially when learning a new language. I am here to do just that for you. Muchas Muchas gracias to Isabella my dear daughter!!

Going back to last week’s words and challenge, do you remember what they were? Find out the answers below.

Quedar: to stay

Quemar: to burn (oneself)

Here are the fantastic responses that came in. I love the creativity! YOUPPI!

Mi esposo solía ser bombero y sé que siempre se quedaba y apagaba el fuego cuando lo llamaban. Me alegra que nunca se quemó.
My husband used to be a fireman and I know he always stayed and put out the fire when they called him. I’m glad he never burned down.

Quiero quedarme al sol pero tengo miedo de quemarme, especialmente aquí en Texas.
I want to stay in the sun but I am scared of burning myself, especially here in Texas.

Cuando nos quedamos en Mexico por dos meses o más espero que no quememos la comida en el BBQ ….jajaja
When we stay in Mexico for two months or more, I hope that we don’t burn the food on the BBQ. hahaha

Here are the words for this week. Gracias a Tony!!! for sharing them!!

Are you curious about “Canadians Speak Spanish”? A wonderful opportunity to speak (hablar) in Spanish.  We had a phenomenal class last Tuesday with 3 invitees.  The students had an opportunity to speak with other hispanics and try out different accents. We represented four countries that night – Canada, United States, Mexico and Colombia!! Absolutely AMAZING!

Reach out and we can have a quick private chat.  First class is on me! Come try it out!
