Weekly Word Challenge –  Plátano y Pomelo

Welcome back!  Last weekend our son and his basketball team won GOLD! It was SO wonderful to watch the team work SO hard to achieve that prize! It reminded me that hard work does pay off.  Did you have an opportunity to study this week?

Going back to the last week’s words and challenge, do you remember what they were? Find out the answers below.

La piña: pineapple

La pera:  pear

Here are the fantastic responses that came in. I love the creativity! YOUPPI!

Para hacer piñas coladas, usa piñas, no peras.
To make piña coladas, use pineapple, not pears.

On hot days I love pina coladas made with fresh pineapple.
Yum

Pears are best just before the start to get soft
Have you tried the apple pears yet Yum

I believe that many of the world’s pineapples are grown in Costa Rica, Brazil and the Philippines and most pears are grown in China. Neither is grown in Canada because it’s too cold.

Prefiero comer una pera que una piña.
I prefer to eat a pear than a pineapple.

Pineapple and pear are my favorite fruits; I eat them in the kitchen with my husband.
